17-Year-Old Critically Injured In Car Vs. Pedestrian Crash In Copiague

A 17-year-old boy is hospitalized in critical condition after being struck by a car along a busy roadway on Long Island.

The crash happened on Sunrise Highway near Bayview Avenue in Copiague at around 8:10 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, as Daily Voice reported.

The Copiague teen was standing in the westbound left lane when he was struck by a Cadillac SUV driven by a 22-year-old Bellmore man, according to Suffolk County Police.

Medics transported the teen to Good Samaritan University Hospital in West Islip in critical condition, police said. The SUV driver was uninjured and remained at the scene.
